Definition of "Transmission Identification" |
Over the years there have been different styles of automatic transmissions made by the Ford Company. This resulted in different identifications for the automatic transmissions. The most common type of Ford automatic transmissions is the C3, the C4, and the C6. One way to identify Ford automatic transmissions is by the number of bolts they have. The C3 transmission has 13 bolts, the C4 transmission has 11 bolts, and the C6 transmission has 14 bolts. / When current is applied, an electromagnet pulls the arm toward it and completes the circuit, it snaps because this happens very quickly. When the current is removed the spring snaps it back into its original place. If you want to slow down the release, put a capacitor and resistor in front of it. The capacitor stores the charge, while the resistor limits how fast it discharges. |
