Definition of "Unity Gain" |
A gain of one. An amplifier that appears like a buffer. The graphic shows an Op-Amp configured as a Unity Gain amplifier. Note RL and CL are not required, but are shown to represent the load. / Unity gain, the input and the output between two devices are the same level. That's to say, when a microphone is outputting 0db, a mixer will also be outputting 0db worth of signal. Unity gain is established by calibrating two pieces of equipment to talk at the same level. / Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter is the microchip with programming that controls a computer's interface to its attached serial devices. Specifically, it provides the computer with the RS-232C Data Terminal Equipment interface so that it can talk to and exchange data with modems and other serial devices. |
