Definition of "Voltage Directional Relay" |
A relay that functions only when the input is above a certain value and in a given direction [diode input]. / A directional relay uses an additional polarizing source of voltage or current to determine the direction of a fault. The fault can be located upstream or downstream of the relay's location, allowing appropriate protective devices to be operated inside or outside of the zone of protection. / Discard eligibile bit specifies that a packet can be discarded in the event that a frame relay switch gets congestion. It is up to the frame relay switch to determine what it will do for packets marked withthe DE bit. |
