Definition of "Voltage Divider" |
A series network in which desired portions of the source voltage may be tapped off for use in the circuit. Resistors R1 and R2 form the voltage divider, with the tapped point being between the two resistors. A voltage divide could consist of a number of different components, another common voltage divider could be formed by two capacitors in series. A Potentiometer could be used as a voltage divider by applying an input to the two ends and taking the output from the center tap and one end. Shunt Resistor applied to a Potentiometer. / Voltage divider also known as a potential divider is a linear circuit that produces an output voltage Vout that is a fraction of its input voltage Vin. / Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a communications protocol that lets network administrators centrally manage and automate the assignment of Internet Protocol addresses in an organization's network. Using the Internet Protocol, each machine that can connect to the Internet needs a unique IP address, which is assigned when an Internet connection is created for a specific computer. / fixed or variable series resistor network connected across a voltage to obtain a desired fraction of that voltage. |
