Definition of "Wideband" |
A classification of the information capacity or bandwidth of a communication channel. Wideband is generally understood to mean a bandwidth between 64kbits/s and 2Mbit/s. / Wideband is a transmission medium or channel that has a wider bandwidth than one voice channel with a carrier wave of a certain modulated frequency. / Kilobits per second is a measure of bandwidth on a data transmission medium. Higher bandwidths are more conveniently expressed in megabits per second and in gigabits per second. |
