| Castigliano presented two theorem :- 1. First theorem : It states that "the partial derivative of the strain energy stored due to external load at a certain point of a statically determinate structure, is equal to deflection in the direction of the load at the point of its application " 2. Second theorem : It states that "In any and every case of statical indeterminate_ wherein, an indefinite number of different values of the redundant forces satisfy the conditions of statical equilibrium, their values are those that render total strain energy stored in the system to a minimum." | |
