Advantages of earthed neutral system:-
Earth fault relays can be provided to isolate the faulty portion.
Arcing ground can be avoided by using suitable protective gears
Disturbance due to induced static charges may be avoided since those are conducted to earth immediately.
The magnitude of the transient voltage is very small.
The maintainance and operation expenses are less than isolated system.
Earth neutral system, from safety point of view, is much better
