The energy available from various sources (in different forms) is first converted into electrical energy as it has the following advantages over the other forms : 1. Cheapness : Comparatively, it is economical. 2. Easy to handle : It can be handled very easily over a long distance, through conductors of suitable size. 3. Flexible : Electrical system is very flexible and to utilize electrical energy it can be taken to any corner of the house, factory, street etc. with the help of solid or stranded conductors. 4. Cleanliness : Electrical heating and electrical drives do not produce any smoke, dust etc., therefore, it is very clean type of energy. 5. No fumes or poisonous gases : Electrical energy is not Associated with smoke fumes or other poisonous gases, therefore, it can he safely used for domestic and industrial purposes. 6. Easy to operate : Electrical system starting, control and operation is very simple tlid convenient. 7. Special heating requirement : Certain requirements of heating such as uniform heating of a material or heating of one particular portion of the job without affecting others, heating of non-metals heating without oxidation can be met only in electrical heating system using electrical energy. 8. Pleasant and cheaper light : Electric lamps, specially designed fluorescent tubes and LED lamps give rise to pleasant and cheaper light as compared to that produced by other lamps. | |
