dc CIRCUITS CONTAINING RESISTANCE An electric circuit is one in which current flows from the voltage source through the connecting wires, through the resistance (load) and back to the voltage source.A circuit can contain two or more resistors connected in series. Such a circuit is called a series circuit. In a series circuit there is only one path for current flow.On the other hand if there are two or more current paths coming from a common voltage source, the circuit is called a parallel circuit. In a parallel circuit, the loads are connected in parallel to each other. In any type of work where electrical energy is used, circuits are connected in series and in parallel mode. In this chapter, methods of calculating resistance, current, voltage and power in series and parallel circuits are given. | |
