DEFINITIONS OF OTHER DERIVED S.I. UNITS

One newton (N) is the force which when applied to a mass of 1 kg, gives it an acceleration of 1 m/s^2.

One pascal (Pa) is the stress or pressure equal to 1 N/m².

One joule (J) is the work done when a force of 1 N is exerted through a distance of 1 m in the direction of the force.

One watt (W) is the power equal to 1 J/s.

Hertz (Hz) is the unit of frequency, namely, the number of cycles per second.
