Determination of B/H or Magnetisation Curve The variation of permeability μ (= μ_{0} μ_{r}) with flux density creates a design problem. Permeability must be known in order to find the flux density (B =μ/H) but permeability changes with flux density. This necessitates a graphical approach to magnetic circuit design. We plot BH curves or magnetisation curves for various magnetic materials. The value of permeability is determined from the BH curve of the material. The BH curve can be determined by the following two methods provided the material is in the form of a ring : (i) By means of ballistic galvanometer, (ii) By means of fluxmeter.
