Harrison

Efficiency of a transformer at a given load and power factor is defined as the output power of the transformer divided by its input, both the quantities expressed in the same units (Watts or Kilowatts). That is,
i.e. efficiency, ........ (1) Since a transformer has a very high efficiency, it is possible to calculate the efficiency of the transformer to a greater accuracy by expressing it as
............ (2)
