h-PARAMETERS The input voltage and output current are expressed in terms of input current and output voltage in h-parameters. For a two-port network Figure (1), it can be expressed as: V1 = Z11I1 + Z12I2 .................... (1) V1 = h11I1 + h12V2 ................ ..(2) I2 = h21I1+h22 V2 .............. (3) Equations (2) and (3) can be written in the matrix form as follows: where h11, h12, h21, and h22 are known as h-parameters of a two-port network. Mathematically,these parameters are defined as From Eqs. (5) and (8), h11 and h22 have the dimensions of impedance and admittance,respectively. Equations (6) and (7) show that the h12 and h21 are pure numbers | |
