MAGNETIC LINES OF FORCE (0) As mentioned earlier, any current carrying conductor is associated with a magnetic field. The magnetic field intensity H due to an infinite length of wire at a distance d from it will be constant and will act along cro (tangential to the line of force), and therefore it will be tangential to a circle of radius d,as shown in Fig. 1 (a). The locus of H is the magnetic line of force, and the magnetic lines of force are concentric circles which are concentric with the conductor.
