MAGNETIC MATERIALS Magnetic materials are those materials in which a state of magnetisation can be induced. Magnetic susceptibility depends on the nature of the magnetic material and on its state,i.e., temperature etc. The principal ferromagnetic elements are iron, cobalt, nickel. The Curie-Weiss law states that where x = susceptibility C = Curie temperature θ = paramagnetic Curie temperature. When a ferromagnetic material is magnetised small changes in dimensions occur, the effect being known as "magnetostriction | |
