Modern D.C. Potentiometers The accuracy of a potentiometer depends on the length of the slide wire used. The greater the length of the slide wire, the greater is the accuracy and vice-versa. For precision work, the total length of the slide wire required would be inconveniently long. In modem potentiometers designed for precision work, the effect of a very long slide wire is obtained by connecting a number of resistance coils in series with a comparatively short slide wire. Each resistance coil has resistance equal to the resistance of the whole slide wire. One such potentiometer is Crompton d.c. potentiometer. | |
