Requirements for Paralleling The requirements are :
The voltage must be the same at the paralleling point or junction even though not the same at the alternators.
The phase sequence for three phase must be the same at the paralleling point.
The incoming machine must be in phase at the moment of paralleling. It is important to recognise the phase sequence and in phase are not the same thing.
The line frequencies must be identical at the paralleling point. In vast majority of cases, this means the same frequency at the generator because frequency changing is not economic.
The prime-movers must have relatively similar and drooping speed-load characteristics
