Secondary Instruments

In these instruments, the quantity can be measured by observing the output indicated by the instruments. It must be noted that the secondary instruments are calibrated by comparison with an absolute instrument or by another secondary instrument that has already been calibrated against an absolute instrument.

Secondary Instruments:-  These are the instruments which are most commonly used. The quantity to be measured will be indicated in terms of the deflection of the pointer which indicates the value on the calibrated dial. The instruments are calibrated in comparison with the standard or absolute instruments. Ammeter and volt meter are examples of secondary instruments
