Definition of "Azimuth" |
Angular measurement in the horizontal plane in a clockwise direction. / The angle between true north and the projection of a surface normal to the horizontal plane, measured clockwise from the north. As applied to a Photovoltaic array, 180 degrees azimuth means the array faces south. / Azimuth is an angular measurement in a spherical coordinate system. The vector from an observer to a point of interest is projected perpendicularly onto a reference plane; the angle between the projected vector and a reference vector on the reference plane is called the azimuth. / Exponentiation is a mathematical operation, written as bn, involving two numbers, the base b and the exponent or power n. When n is a positive integer, exponentiation corresponds to repeated multiplication; in other words, a product of n factors, each of which is equal to b the product itself can also be called power. |
